We were lucky enough to receive a visit from the prestigious Cheltenham Gold Cup – along with Andre and Laura from Cheltenham Racecourse and the winning horse A Plus Tard (or possibly Jason disguised as A Plus Tard).
Andre shared with the children many facts about the race and the cup itself, for example that the cup is valued at about £500,000 and that the first Cheltenham Gold Cup was actually run on top of Cleeve Hill not at the racecourse!
Some of the children were rewarded with scarves and our very own pair of Rubys got to dress up in jockey silks! Our school councillors even stayed for a photo with the historic trophy.
What a way to start a Wednesday!
