Pre-loved Halloween Costumes

Our newly elected Eco Warriors have already been busy discussing ideas for their project this term.

The recently publicised decline in butterfly numbers in the United Kingdom, is something that has captured Eco’s attention and they are keen to do all they can to support butterflies at our school.

We are very fortunate at Warden Hill to have designated wild spaces, which create habitats for a range of creatures. However, Mrs Catchpole met with Tricia Atkinson from Butterfly Conservation to discuss ways we could improve our site further to support butterflies and moths. Tricia suggested we should plant a wider range of wildflowers.

Therefore, to fund the purchase of these wildflower plants, Eco would like to hold a Preloved Halloween costume sale on Friday 18^th October – in time for the PTA Halloween Disco on Thursday 24^th October. Eco Warriors would like children to bring in any clean, pre-loved costumes to school and give them to their class teacher by Wednesday 16^th October. The Eco Warriors will then have a stall on the playground on Friday 18th October, where they will be selling the donated items.
