DESCRIPTION:Black History Month takes place every October in the UK. \nThe theme for Black History Month UK 2025 is “Standing Firm in Power and Pride\,” a powerful tribute to the resilience\, strength\, and unwavering commitment to progress that defines the Black community across the globe. This year\, the theme highlights the profound contributions made by Black people be they leaders\, activists\, or pioneers who have shaped history\, while also looking towards a future of continued empowerment\, unity\, and growth. \n  \nLIVE ASSEMBLY \nOur school was one of 4\,300 that joined to watch Picture News’ live assembly on Friday 3 October. \nOur School Council members will also be exploring an element of black history to share with classes later on in the month. \n  \nRECOMMENDED READING LIST \nTo celebrate Black History Month\, we have created a recommended reading list for you and your children to enjoy together.
