House System

Our houses play a significant role in our school. Not only do our children join their classes but they join a bigger community in their school houses – thus nurturing that sense of belonging. 

Within our school houses the children take part in a vast variety of inter-competitions from choir to rugby, from spelling to Times Table Rockstars, Athletics (and a lot more in between!)

We are very proud of the competitive nature we develop and encourage in our children. They learn what winning feels like and what losing does – but alongside that they learn to congratulate the houses and respect their wins but also they learn a want to do better. They also become fiercely proud of their houses and love to represent them in the many competitions we offer at our school.

The role of a House, Vice and Sport Captain is one of privilege, pride and responsibility. It is more than just a title and a badge.  It requires dedication and commitment for an entire term, to grow into young leaders of our school.

MORE ABOUT THE RIVERS
The Rivers Churn, Coln, Leach and Windrush all flow through the Cotswolds valleys and are all tributaries of the River Thames, which rises in the Cotswolds near Kemble in Gloucestershire.
WINDRUSH
WINDRUSH
The River Windrush rises at Cutsdean, in the Cotswold Hills in Gloucestershire, Northeast of Taddington. It flows for about 40 miles (64 km) through Bourton-on-the-Water and the village of Windrush, into Oxfordshire and through Burford, Witney, Ducklington and Standlake. It meets the Thames at Newbridge.
CHURN

The River Churn rises at Seven Springs near Cheltenham and flows south across the Cotswold dip slope, passing through Cirencester and joining the River Thames near Cricklade in Wiltshire. Its length is approximately 25 kilometres.
COLN
COLN
The River Coln rises at Brockhampton to the east of Cheltenham, and flows in a south/south-easterly direction through the Cotswold Hills. It is a rich limestone stream and flows through Andoversford, Withington, Fossbridge, Bibury, Coln St Aldwyns and Fairford. It joins the River Thames to the south-west of Lechlade.
LEACH
LEACH
The River Leach rises in the village of Hampnett (near Northleach), about ten miles east of Cheltenham. It is approximately 18 miles (29 km) long although in parts of its course it becomes a seasonal bourn, only running above ground when there is sufficient rainfall. The River Leach runs through Northleach, The Eastleaches, Southrop, Little Farringdon and joins the Thames at Lechlade.
