Welcome to Year 4
Year 4 is a year in which we aim to build on the children’s growing confidence having already completed a year in the juniors. Independence is another key area that we aim to develop and children are encouraged to take greater responsibility for their learning and day to day organisation. Underpinning everything we do in Year 4 is our firm belief that all children can succeed with the right opportunities and support.
We have fun over the year learning about The Romans, The Anglo-Saxons and North and Central America. We love to be creative and make Roman mosaics and shields, Andy Warhol pictures and pop-up books. The children get a real buzz out of making electrical circuits, enjoy going on a bug hunt and get their teeth stuck into our work on the digestive system.
A highlight of the year is our trip in the summer term where the children get to experience life as an evacuee in World War Two.
