World Book Day

We had a fantastic day celebrating World Book Day! The day began with an exciting assembly led by Mrs Jones and Mrs Sperduti, where they introduced this year’s theme: ‘If you’re into it, read it.’ It was a great reminder that reading can be enjoyed by everyone, no matter what their interests are.

Throughout the day, the children took part in a range of fun activities. At break and lunchtime, they loved searching for books hidden around the playground. There was also a book swap at lunchtime, where children gave their preloved books a new home so that others could discover and enjoy them.

In the afternoon, the children shared stories with pupils from different year groups, which was a wonderful way to celebrate a love of reading across the school. The day finished with our exciting ‘Battle of the Books’, where children designed eye-catching posters and confidently presented and debated their ideas within their classes.

Thank you to everyone who entered the photo competition. The Reading Ambassadors had a very tricky decision to make!
