At Warden Hill, we believe in nurturing the whole child. Our aim is for every member of our community—children, parents and staff—to feel a strong sense of belonging so that they can grow, thrive and be happy.
Well-being Team
Our dedicated Well-being Team, made up of our Well-being Lead, Mental Health Lead and Pastoral Assistant, works together to support and champion positive well-being across our school. While the terms well-being and mental health can be used interchangeably, we choose to talk about well-being because it reflects a more positive, broad and balanced approach to the support we offer.
What We Do
The role of our Well-being Lead is central to ensuring that every child feels confident, safe and happy enough to belong, explore and succeed at Warden Hill. We teach children about emotional literacy through assemblies, PSHE and RSE lessons, helping them understand their feelings and develop healthy strategies for managing them.
Alongside this proactive teaching, we also provide responsive support whenever a child, parent or member of staff needs it. This may include:
- Well-being interventions, supporting challenges such as bereavement, worry, anxiety, or friendship difficulties
- Practical guidance for parents, including help with routines, sleep and managing challenging behaviour
- Opportunities to connect, such as Cuppa and Connect sessions where parents can share experiences, ideas and strategies in a relaxed, supportive environment
- Well-being videos and resources designed to start conversations at home and offer simple, practical advice
How We Support Our Community
Our Well-being Lead is always here to listen without judgement. They support children with their individual needs and offer tools to help them grow personally and make the best possible academic progress.
We also work closely with parents, offering a safe space during difficult times and helping families access further support—either from within school or through external agencies.
Our Mental Health Lead plays a strategic role, guiding the development of our whole-school approach to positive well-being and ensuring that our support continues to evolve to meet the needs of our community.
