Choosing the right school for your child is one of the most important decisions you will make, and we are delighted that you are considering Warden Hill.
Our vision is clear: Unlocking the potential in every child.
We strive to create a safe, supportive, and stimulating environment where every child can flourish academically, socially, and emotionally. Our dedicated team works in partnership with families to ensure that each child’s unique talents and abilities are nurtured.
GCC School Admissions
For children due to start in September 2026 the child’s date of birth falls between 1 September 2021 and 31 August 2022.
Please apply via the Gloucestershire School Admissions.
Applications for September 2026 entry will need to be submitted between 3 November 2025 and 15 January 2026.
Allocation of Places
Admission Number
We have an agreed admission number of 60 pupils for entry into Reception each year.
Oversubscription Criteria
If the school is not oversubscribed, all applicants will be offered a place.
Where applications exceed the number of available places, priority will be given in the following order:
- Looked-after and previously looked-after children.
- Children of staff at the school:
Staff employed at Warden Hill Primary School for 2 or more years at the time of application, or
Staff recruited to fill a post with a demonstrable skill shortage. - Children with siblings currently attending the school (including step, foster, and adopted siblings, and other children living permanently at the same address).
- Children with the strongest geographical claim.
Tie Break
If two or more applications cannot be separated by the criteria above, priority will be given to the child living closest to the school, measured in a straight line from the home address to the school’s front gates on Durham Close.
If distances are equal, a random allocation process will be used, independently verified.
Twins and Multiple Births
Applications for twins or multiple births will be treated individually. However, we aim to accommodate all siblings at the same school where possible, even if this means exceeding the Infant Class Size limit.
Children of UK Service Personnel or Crown Servants
We follow the Local Authority’s Fair Access Protocol to ensure that children of UK service personnel and Crown Servants are not disadvantaged when applying outside the normal admissions round.
Fair Access Protocol
Warden Hill Primary School participates in Gloucestershire County Council’s Fair Access Protocol to ensure that all children, including those who are vulnerable or without a school place, are allocated a place promptly.
