At Warden Hill, we believe every child has the potential to thrive in our digital world. Our computing curriculum helps children feel they belong in a connected society, explore technology with confidence and curiosity and succeed by developing essential skills for the future.
Children learn to stay safe online, think creatively and solve problems through coding, data handling and digital media. They use laptops, iPads, VR headsets and we are now beginning to explore AI tools to enhance their learning. As children engage with artificial intelligence, we also teach them to understand both the exciting opportunities it offers and the challenges it presents.
Technology is a powerful tool across the curriculum, helping children express ideas, deepen understanding and unlock their potential. Our “Switched on Computing” scheme and our own Warden Hill Digital Literacy Skills Ladder ensure children develop practical skills using Word, Excel and PowerPoint alongside essential digital skills like saving, printing, and organising work.
Online safety is a key focus and (supported by our Golden Rules) is revisited regularly to help children make smart, informed choices in an ever-changing digital landscape.
By combining hands-on experiences with thoughtful guidance, we prepare our pupils not just to use technology — but to shape the future with it.
