- This event has passed.
23 May - 27 May
Every child will be participating in frisbee, rounders and their own sports day. Additionally, the junior children will also compete in field events.
This will culminate in the awarding of the prestigious house cup for the combined scores in the athletics events.
Outfit and footwear
Throughout the week, all children are to come in to school wearing their school PE kit. This will include their house top and blue/black shorts. The children will wear their trainers to school and throughout the week – they do not need to wear school shoes, as is the case with our normal PE/games lessons.
Children must also have a water bottle each day as normal, which they will bring outside with them. The current forecast is looking promising, so please be mindful of applying sun cream and/or provide a hat if necessary.
We are delighted that we can once again invite you into school to watch your children compete in their sports day events. The start times and dates for each of these are outlined below:
Reception, Year 1, Year 2 – Tuesday 24 May – 1:30 pm
Year 5, Year 6 – Wednesday 25 May – 2:00 pm
Year 3, Year 4 – Thursday 26 May – 2:00 pm
All of these timings are intended to ensure our usual 3.15pm finish. The children will return to their classrooms at the end of the event where they can be collected at the normal time. Please allow the children to return to their classrooms before heading to the playground.
Access for Parents
Gates will open about 10 minutes before the start time, to enable us to start promptly. Parents should access the field via the reception side gate: you will need to approach the crossing before the infant blue gates, turn right towards the nature area and following the school building around the outside of the reception classrooms and out onto the infant playground.
Parents will be seated alongside the track, between the track itself and the school building; children will be sat in the centre of the track. This needs to be maintained to ensure that staff know where all children are at all times. We have approximately 100 seats (which will be brought down by Year 6 pupils for parental seating) but you may wish to bring camping style chairs or stand, to ensure all those who want to attend can do so.
As ever, photos and videos may be taken during the event, but these are for your personal use and should not be put onto social media.
We very much look forward to welcoming parents back to our sports days. We hope to see as many of you there as possible.
