We have had a brilliant half term of girls’ football with our club having its highest number of players ever – at 24! Many of the girls are already regular club players, while others are involved in their first competitive football. These numbers have meant we are excited to field both an A and B team this year, including giving all these players a chance to represent the school in at least one fixture.
This year’s girls’ football A team have got off to a flying start with a superb performance in the top division of the cup competition. In a short-match round robin format, the girls won 4, drew 2 and lost just 1 game, losing out on the overall win by a single goal difference. Throughout the series of games, the girls showed brilliant strength, skill and sportsmanship and we’re looking forward to the league phase starting after half term.
