Just a quick update about homework and our new Learning by Questions (LbQ) tasks.
We have set two LbQ activities for the children to complete online. These will be available from Friday 25th September until Friday 16th October, so the children have three weeks to complete them.
To log in, children just need to scan their LbQ QR code, which is stuck inside their reading journal, and then go to ‘Independent Study’.
The activities do not need to be completed all in one go. Children can stop part-way through and come back to them another time. They have been chosen to work alongside the topics we are teaching in class and to give the children some extra practice and revision.
Just a little reminder of our usual homework expectations:
- Each Friday, children will receive either a Maths or SPaG sheet to complete by the following Friday.
- Spellings are also set each week and tested on a Friday. At the moment, these are linked to our English topics to help the children build a wider and more adventurous vocabulary for their writing.
- We ask that children read for 20 minutes at least four times a week and record this in their reading journal. Reading journals are checked weekly.
- Children should also complete their LBQ Independent Study tasks within the three-week window.
Thank you so much for your continued support at home, it really helps the children to build confidence and reinforce what they are learning in school.
Many thanks,
Year 5 Team
