On Friday 25th September, the twice re-scheduled Cotswold Shield Athletics Competition took place at the Prince of Wales stadium. This track and field athletics event is the top division of Cheltenham schools, and is for junior children but, having been re-scheduled from last summer, only current Y4 – Y6 children took part. Despite this being well out of athletics season, as a school we enjoyed a thoroughly entertaining and successful evening including medals in the field events, sprints, relays and long distance races.
There were a number of stand-out performances including making 5 out of the 6 relay finals and many children earning medals (see photos of our medallists) but the evening was capped off by being announced as the ‘Girls Winners’ – meaning our girls were the top performing of any of the schools in attendance! The children were fantastic on the track and did Warden Hill proud once again. Thanks too go to our parents, Mr Herbert and Mrs Flooks, and to our admin team, who have had to continually re-organise this much re-scheduled event.
