The day began with a KS1 assembly, where the children were treated to a special visit from author and illustrator Sam Usher. He read his story Clang, bringing it to life with his expressive storytelling. The children were then thrilled as he created a wonderfully cheeky monkey drawing right before their eyes!
Throughout the morning, each class up to Year 3 enjoyed inspiring sessions with Sam Usher, where he shared his incredible illustration techniques. The children were captivated as they watched his ideas come to life on the page.
In the afternoon, excitement continued to fill the school as children eagerly queued to have their books signed by Sam Usher. We were also delighted to welcome Bookwagon back, who brought a fantastic selection of books and shared their passion for reading, along with a range of “must-read” titles for all ages.
It was a brilliant day celebrating literature and sparking a lifelong love of reading across the school. The enthusiasm and excitement were palpable from start to finish!
A huge thank you to everyone who purchased a Sam Usher book or supported the Bookwagon book fair after school. Your support plays a vital role in helping us continue to promote a love of reading throughout our school community.
