Year 1 at The Wilson Museum

Year 1 had a fabulous trip to the Wilson Museum and Art Gallery where we looked at artefacts from Edward Wilson’s life including an actual sledge that went with him to Antarctica.

Edward Wilson was born and raised in Cheltenham and was Captain Scott’s right-hand man in his expedition to the South Pole.

We tried on some exact copies of clothes that went on that expedition and worked with some volunteers who helped bring the story to life, finding our way in the dark during a snowstorm, eating the type of crackers they took with them and looking at some of the exhibits in the Edward Wilson collection.

A great morning was had by all.
