Last year, our Eco Warriors were fortunate to work with Tricia, Chairperson of the Gloucestershire branch of Butterfly Conservation, who helped them to release Cinnabar moth caterpillars into our Wildflower Meadow. The children learned about the caterpillars’ fascinating lifecycle and the importance of providing suitable habitats for native wildlife.
This week, the current Eco Warriors were delighted to discover black and yellow striped Cinnabar moth caterpillars on Ragwort plants, showing that the moths successfully completed their lifecycle and returned to lay eggs.
This demonstrates the positive impact our Eco Warriors have had on the local environment and provides a real-life example of how conservation efforts can help wildlife thrive.
