Climate change heroes assemble!
Gloucestershire Energy from Waste Facility launched its competition for local school children to join the fight against climate change in a creative way by designing a superhero to tackle the climate crisis.
Any medium, including a painting, drawing, a poster, a photograph or a model will be accepted.
The competition is designed to promote Science, Technology, Engineering, and Maths (STEM) subjects and get young people thinking about how they can positively impact the environment and have fun with designing some creative ways a superhero could help tackle the reality of a climate emergency with a tool, superpower, or gadget.
The competition is open to children from as young as 4 years old and will be judged in different age range categories. The prizes include £50 in vouchers for the winning entry in each age category and the equivalent in cash for the child’s school.
Complete the entry form and send a digital copy (video, photo or image) of the artwork before the closing date (13 January 2026) to melanie.delatorrezamora@fccenvironment.co.uk with the subject line “Gloucestershire Energy from Waste Facility – Superhero competition”
